Science and Nature - new electronic titles

The Library is pleased to announce that we have now converted our subscriptions for the journals 'Science' and 'Nature' from print-only to online access. These titles are available from both on and off campus.

To access the subscriptions, go to the eJournals AtoZ and enter the name of the journal that you wish to locate:

We have purchased e-access to 'Nature' as part of a bundle (from 2010 onwards) which also includes:

Nature Genetics, Nature Neuroscience, Nature News, Nature Structural & Molecular Biology and Nature Reviews: Cancer

Smokers shelter

In case you were wondering what it is! Over the last couple of days, despite the weather, builders have been putting up a smokers shelter outside the Campus Library. It gives smokers somewhere to go which is out of the wind, moves their smoke away from the library steps, and clears the road outside the library as well. The grass which has been damaged will of course be replaced.

More study spaces in the Campus Library

Did you know that, over the Summer we added an additional 30 spaces in Silent areas? We re-sited some maps and microfilm resources to store and now the new seating can be found in the Law Library and in the top floor to the back of the building, next to the Special Collections office.

Staffordshire Public Libraries - Access to Academic Research

A searchable database of academic journals and research papers is now available from your local public library. The Access to Research website can be accessed from any public library computer, or via the public library wi-fi which is available at most public libraries. The pilot project runs until the end of December 2015 and makes 1.5million journal and research articles available. The free access is subject to strict rules around not copying or downloading the material and the articles are only to be used on the basis of remaining non-commercial and for private study.
